BICYCLE TECHNICIAN / RETAIL SALES POSITION

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Solé Bicycle Technician, no day will be the same as the previous. We expect you to care for bikes so their owners love riding them. You will diagnose repairs and work with all kinds of bikes, plus you’ll be the first to have your hands on our brand new models before they hit the retail floors. Most importantly, you’ll help build relationships with people who trust us to keep their bicycles in tip top shape. Our community means the world to us and we strive to provide them with the best possible service experience.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a teammate with excellent customer service skills, a willingness to learn, and a real motivation to build your skills as a technician. Since you will constantly be speaking with customers to evaluate their bicycles and recommend repairs, we value energetic hospitality skills above prior shop experience. So, if you’ve already worked as a mechanic, that’s great. But if not, we’ll train you.

• Possible USC Village Location

HOURS

• Between 20-40 hours per week

PAY

• Based on previous experience

SCHEDULE

• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM

• Strong customer service skills and experience
• Inventory management and merchandising experience
• Proficient bicycle mechanic skills (at least 2 years professional shop experience)
• Experience working with teams
• Highly organized, creative, and detail oriented
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution
• Maintain and uphold Solé Bicycles' consistent retail customer experience. Our customers are our Solé Family.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Expert level bike mechanic skills, experience with full bicycle build outs
• E-commerce and Shopify experience preferred
• Familiar with Zendesk or other centrally integrated customer service platforms preferred

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage daily Bike Shop operations (65%)

• Assist in the scheduling of work (repair, maintenance, walk-in, and bike building)
• Assist in the ordering and pricing of supplies, parts, and accessories
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment in the shop and storage areas
• Provide quality assurance: Check over completed bikes before they go to customers
• Assist in managing daily cash flow and regular deposits
• Assist as a point of contact for all shop related inquiries and respond to them in a prompt and professional manner

Customer Service (35%)

• Be a central part of the customer service response team on Zendesk and efficiently manage any tickets related to service inquiries
• Work with Solé HQ to keep an efficient work flow on the Zendesk platform
